Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a sprayed deposit excellent in wear resistance, thermal shock resistance, and nonreactivity with metal, by providing a composition in which respective contents of Cr2O3 and Al2O3 and also the total content of the above are specified and the balance is composed of ZrO2. CONSTITUTION:A thermal spraying material has a composition which consists of, by weight, 8-50% Cr2O3, 8-50% Al2O3, and the balance essentially ZrO2 and contains, if necessary, 1-6% Y2O3 and in which the total content of CrO2 and Al2O3 is regulated to <75%. When this thermal spraying material is applied, wear resistance at high temp. can be provided to the surface of a base material and, as a result, the prolongation of the service lives of various equipment members can be attained.
