Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition with significantly improved heat and crack propagation resistances, by incorporating matrix rubber with as the curing agent, a combination of sulfur and specific bismaleimide compound and, as the curing accelerator, sulfenamide accelerator and thiuram accelerator. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. of natural rubber and/or synthetic rubber with (B) as the curing agent, B1: 0.2-6pts.wt. of sulfur and B2: 0.1-10pts.wt. of a bismaleimide compound of formula I (R is of formula II or straight chain hydrocarbon having at least one ether linkage and having or not having side chain; n is >=7) (pref. a compound with the R having at least one ether linkage) and (C) as the curing accelerator, C1: 0.1-5pts.wt. of a sulfenamide accelerator (e.g. N-cyclohexyl-2- benzothiazolyl sulfenamide) and C2: 0.1-5pts.wt. of a thiuram accelerator.
