Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a polybutadiene rubber composition having excellent processability and breaking strength, by compounding polybutadiene with a petroleum resin composed mainly of cyclopentadiene or dicyclopentadiene.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is prepared by compounding (A) 100pts.wt. of polybutadiene or a rubber blend containing ≥50wt% of polybutadiene, with (B) 3W40pts.wt. of a petroleum resin composed mainly of cyclopentadiene or dicyclopentadiene and pref. having a softening point of 80W150°C and a bromine value of 50W150. The cis-content of the polybutadiene is ≥70%, pref. ≥80%.
