Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a novel oil-absorbing material having excellent oil-absorbing properties, and composed of a mixture of an acrylonitrile (co)polymer and a thermoplastic elastomer consisting of a conjugated diolefin and a monovinyl-substituted aromatic compound.
CONSTITUTION: The objective oil-absorbing material is prepared by mixing (a) 10W70wt% of an acrylonitrile (co)polymer and (b) 90W30wt% of a thermoplastic elastomer consisting of a conjugated diolefin and a monovinyl-substituted aromatic compound. The acrylonitrile-content of the component (a) is pref. ≥30%. The component (b) is pref. a block copolymer denoted by the formula A-B-A (A is a monovinyl-substituted aromatic compound polymer block; B is a conjugated diolefin polymer block).
