PURPOSE:To lessen the pressure fogging of the titled material by incorporating a specified compd. and a colloidal silica in a protective layer of the titled material. CONSTITUTION:The titled material comprises a silver halide photographic sensitive layer and a nonphotosensitive protective layer, and said protective layer contains the compd. shown by formula I and the colloidal silica. The compd. shown by the formula is an ester of a higher fatty acid and a higher alcohol. In the formula, (n) and (m) are each 10-20. Said compd. (for example, a compd. shown by formula II) may be dispersed in a hydrophilic colloidal binder such as gelatin by emulsifying. And, said silica is mainly composed of a silicon dioxide and may contain a small amount of alumina or sodium aluminate, etc. Said silica may be added to the protective layer in a prescribed amount on the basis of the gelatin which exists in the outermost layer of the titled material.
