Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform calibration which is easy to automate without using any complicated device by fitting a load transmission rod to the force detector and applying an axial load and moment around an axis at the same time or only the axial load. CONSTITUTION:The output E of the force detector 1 and the load have a relation E=CW, C is a matrix consisting of six rows and six columns, and the force detector 1 is calibrated by finding the C. The load and moment are applied to the force detector separately before, but a load adding jig 10 is provided as the load transmission rod for improving that. The jig 10 has arm parts 12-14 and a mount part 16 and is fitted to the force detector 1, and the matrix C is found by applying the axial load and moment on an axis at the same time as to three axes passing a point S or only the axial load, thereby performing the calibration.
