Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform toning operation in a liquid state, by measuring the reflection factor of a coloring material dispersed liquid at the time of the color matching of pigment and correcting a specular surface reflection factor and an internal surface reflection factor as specified. CONSTITUTION:The reflection factor R' of the dispersed liquid in the cell for colorimetry at the time of the colorimetry of a target color and a dummy color sample is not the real reflection factor R, so the specular surface reflection factor K1 and internal surface reflection factor K2 need to be corrected as specified according to a difference in surface state. Namely, the specular surface reflection factor K1 is found from an equation II, where Kx is the reflection factor when specular surface reflection is excluded and Ky is the reflection factor when the specular surface reflection is not excluded. Further, the internal surface reflection factor K2 is found from an equation III, where Kalpha is a correction coefficient and Kbeta is a correction constant. Those K1 and K2 are substituted in an equation I to find the real reflection factor R and an absorption coefficient and a scattering coefficient which are required are found by a normal method to perform the toning operation, thereby performing the color matching in the liquid state.
