Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of liquid level detection by detecting the completion of the warm-up of an engine and specifying the detectable period of liquid level according to the state of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A cooling water temperature sensor 44 detects the temperature of engine cooling water and the timer in an information display device 5 measures the elapsed time from the last stop of the engine. Consequently, it is judged that either of a 1st state wherein the cooling water temperature is below specific temperature the elapsed time after the engine stop exceeds a specific time of, for example, 20min and a 2nd state wherein the cooling water temperature is higher than specific temperature and the elapsed time from the engine stop exceeds a specific time shorter than the specific time of the 1st state, e.g. 5min is satisfied nor not, and when not, the liquid level is displayed on an information display device 5 mounted on the dashboard.
