Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject bulky yarn with the diameters of the single fibers in both the sheath and core varied in the longitudinal direction and these single fibers intermingled with one another, presenting natural light-and-shade contrast, and capable of giving woven fabrics with slight slimmy feel and dry touch. CONSTITUTION: This bulky yarn is obtained by feeding a fluid turbulent flow jet processing nozzle 5 with a group of single fibers Y1 and a 2nd group of single fibers Y2 corresponding to the core and sheath, respectively, wherein the overfeed rate of the group Y2 is made 2-20% higher than the group Y1 so as to intermingle both kinds of single fibers Y1 and Y2 together. In this bulky yarn, the diameters of the single fibers in both the sheath and core are varied in the longitudinal direction, the birefringences of the thick part and thin part are 0.01-0.08 and >=0.09, respectively, and the single fibers in the sheath mainly form coils, loops and entanglements, being projected on the surface of this bulky yarn.
