Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled compound colorless under normal visible rays, luminescent red by ultraviolet irradiation, suitable for ink compositions, consisting of a specific substituted acetonate-based europium complex. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound consisting of a complex of formula I [R1 and R2 are each H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, (di)(alkyl) amino, aryl or aralkyl; A<+> is of formula II (R3-R6 are each H, alkyl or aralkyl), (substituted) pyridinium cation or phosphonium cation] [e.g., n-tetrabutylammonium tetra(benzoyl trifluoroacetonate)europium complex]. This compound is used in ink compositions.
