Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the power supply circuit of an air conditioner by connecting a crankcase heater to two wires of a three-phase AC wiring. CONSTITUTION:When a control switch 4 for a power supply circuit of a compressor motor is turne off, current does not flow through a drive coil L of an electromagnetic switch 21, and normally opened contacts S1, S2 are turned off to stop a three-phase compressor motor 2. Current is supplied to a crank case heater 3 from the R phase of a three-phase AC power source through a fuse 6, crank case heater 3, winding phases (a), (b) and a phases of three-phase compressor motor 2 and (s) phase of three-phase AC power source. When the control switch 4 is turned on, current is supplied to the drive coil L to run the three-phase compressor motor 2 while the crank case heater is turned off and the same operation as conventional one is performed.
