Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a non-conductor included in a relay contact to be removed by temporarily turning off a relay when voltage applied to electric equipment through the relay is lower than a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:A normally turned-off relay 7 supplies a power source from a battery 1 to a fuel ignition device 2 and other electric equipment of a vehicle under the turned-on condition of an ignition key switch 6. When a non-conductor such as dirt is included in a relay contact 7a, voltage applied to an input terminal 5b of a comparation section 5 in a control unit 4 is reduced lower than voltage applied to an input terminal 5a. Then, an OFF signal is temporarily output from the comparation section 5 to a transistor Tr for a predetermined time. Thus, the transistor Tr is turned off, so that the relay 7 is instantly turned off to open temporarily the relay contact 7a and then return to the initial closed condition. By this temporary opening and closing operation, the non-conductor included in the relay contact 7a tends to be removably separated from between contacts.
