Abstract

PURPOSE:To cool a stator coil efficiently, by bringing the mold of the stator coil into direct contact with a housing. CONSTITUTION:A stator 14 comprises a stator core 16 and a stator coil 18 inserted into slots 46 made in the stator core 16. An inlet 42 and an outlet 44 for inner cooling liquid are made through a side housing 22 in order to absorb heat produced from the stator coil 18. The stator coil 18 and the stator core 16 are molded 20 with resin material. The mold 20 at the end of the stator coil 18 is formed integrally with the inner face 30 of the side housing 22 so as transmit heat produced at the end of the stator coil 18 directly to the side housing 22.
