Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a cable and to improve noise resistance by emitting the light of a scintillator by the incidence of radiation, detecting the emission by a semiconductor sensor and outputting a detection signal, and sending it optically to an external device through an optical connector. CONSTITUTION:When the radiation is made incident on a radiation detector 10, the scintillator 20 emits light. Its emitted light is detected by the semiconductor sensor 12 through a reflecting material 21 without leaking out. Its detection signal is amplified by an amplifier 13 and then a wave height discrimination device 14 discriminates between a noise component and a signal component. The detection signal after the noise component is removed is made constant in pulse width and wave height by a waveform shaping circuit 15 and supplied to a LED 17. The detection signal is converted into a light pulse signal, which is transmitted to an indication controller 22 through the optical connector 18 and an optical fiber 23. A CPU 29 calculates an irradiation dosage rate from the number (c) of pulses per unit time and outputs a display command to an indicating circuit 30.
