Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the heaving of underground water by protruding the striking pawls of a hammer from the front end of a double-wall casing housing the hammer inside and, after excavation is completed by compacting excavated soil against the outer periphery, feeding the muck into the casing by reversely rotating the casing. CONSTITUTION: The front end section of a casing 1 is constructed in a double- wall structure and a hammer 12 is housed in the casing 1 while striking pawls 12a attached to the front end of the hammer 12 are protruded from the front end face of the casing 1. Excavation is performed by using an excavating device having excavating blades 7 arranged at a fixed angle so that excavated soil 17 may be discharged to the outer periphery when the casing 1 is rotated in the normal direction until the excavating device reaches the foundation ground by compacting the excavated soil 17 against the outer periphery with the blades 7 by rotating the casing 1 in the normal direction.
