Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a stop position of a carriage to be adjusted at a right fixed position though a fitting position of a sensor changes, by calculating the stop position by subtracting a fixed distance from a sensor position stored in a sensor positional memory which stores the sensor position obtained by a sensor position detection means. CONSTITUTION:When a power source switch is closed under a state where a regulation key of an operational panel 9 is pushed down, a carriage 2 moves left to stop at a left end position of a transfer area, and the carriage moves reversely right from this position. Then, an actual distance from the left end position of the transfer area to a fitting position of a sensor 8 is obtained, and a distance Sp from a printing start position 6 determined by a distance Pp from the left end position of the transfer area is written as a sensor position Sp in EEPROM. When after once interrupting the power source, the power source switch is again closed under a state where the regulation key is released from pushing down, the carriage 2 once moves to an actual fitting position of the sensor 8 and thereafter, returns to a stop position.
