Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a density meter, which can measure fluid to be measured having a large density, can be handled readily and can be inserted into a minute amount of a sample, by providing a resonance blocking body in the inside of a cylindrical mechanical vibrator, and maintaining the resonance frequency, which is generated in the vibrator, high. CONSTITUTION:Flanges 11 and 12 are provided at both ends of a cylindrical vibrator 1. An exciting means 2 and a resonance detecting means 3 of the vibrator 1 are attached to the step part of the flange 12. A cover 41 is coupled with the flanges 11 and 12 and covers the outside of the vibrator 1. One end of a cover 42 is coupled to the flange 12 so as to form a long slender rod. The cover 42 covers lead wires 21 and 31, which are connected to the exciting means 2 and the detecting means 3. In a chamber 15, which is formed between the cover 41 and the vibrator 1, atmospheric pressure or a gas having a specified pressure is sealed. For example, a rod shaped (or pipe shaped, sponge shaped, network shaped and the like) resonance blocking body 5 is provided so as to maintain a resonance frequency generated in the vibrator at the higher side in the inside of the vibrator 1. Thus the occurrence of the resonance in a measuring range is blocked, and the density of fluid having a large density can be measured.
