Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the compact sensor which can be used for the measurement of midium and high pressures by applying a pressure to be measured in a flat tube whose one end or both ends are fixed, generating vibration whose direction is perpendicular to the major axis of the flat tube, and sensing the vibration corresponding to the pressure to be measured. CONSTITUTION:The prssure to be measured P is applied into a flat tube 4 whose one end or both ends are fixed. The vibration is generated by excitation in the direction perpendicular to the major axis of said flat tube. The vibration of the flat tube 4 caused by the excitation is sensed, and an electric signal corresponding to the pressure to be measured P is obtained. For example, the pressure to be measured P is applied from an opening 4a of the flat tube 4 made of magnetic material whose cross section is as shown in the Figure and a one end is fixed, and the free end of the flat tube 4 is excited by an exciting coil 2 at a specified frequency. The flat tube 4 is expanded by the pressure to be measured P, and its flexural rigidity is increased. The vibration of the flat tube 4 is changed accordingly and sensed by a sensing coil 3. Thus the electric signal having the frequency corresponding to the pressure to be measured P is obtained.
