Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable both a cooling operation and a heating operation to be carried out in different rooms by a method wherein a liquid pipe is connected to each of indoor devices and both a high pressure pipe and a low pressure pipe are connected to each of the indoor devices through a sub-three way valve for changing over between a high pressure and a low pressure. CONSTITUTION: In the case that a cooling operation is being carried out at a first indoor device 11, refrigerant discharged out of a capability variable type compressor 1 passes through a main three-way valve 21, is condensed and liquefied at an outdoor heat exchanger 3, passes through a check valve 4, a liquid tank 6, a flow rate control valve 14 and a cooling heat exchanger 3, is evaporated at an indoor heat exchanger 17 to perform a cooling operation and then the refrigerant is sucked from the sub-three way valve 22 into the capability variable type compressor 1 through a low pressure pipe 24 and an accumulator 7. At this time, in the case that a heating operation is carried out at the second indoor device 12, the refrigerant passes through the sub-three way valve 22 via a high pressure pipe 23, flows at the indoor heat exchanger 17, is condensed and liquefied to perform a heating operation and further the refrigerant flows at a liquid pipe 19 through a check valve 15 and the flow rate control valve 14, is merged with the refrigerant flowing into the first indoor device 11 and then the refrigerant returns back to the outdoor device 8. Accordingly, cooling operation and heating operation can be operated concurrently in different rooms.
