Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable execution of highly efficient heating, by a method wherein an indoor temperature is detected at intervals of a given time by means of an indoor temperature detecting means, and based on a result of measurement of the rate of a change in temperature of a room, a discharge angle is switched according to the magnitude of the rate of a change in temperature by means of a discharge angle deciding means and a discharge angle switching means. CONSTITUTION:After a person using a room 14 closes the power source of an air conditioner 1, a room temperature is set to a desired value. An initial room temperature T0 is detected by means of an indoor temperature detecting means 19 mounted approximately at the central part of a suction port 10. When a preset time theta elapses, a room temperature T1 is detected by means of an indoor temperature detecting means 19 again, and a rate of a change in temperature DELTAT is computed by means of the initial room temperature T0 and the room temperature T1 after lapse of a specified time. A preset reference rate of a change in temperature DELTAt is compared with the rate of a change in temperature DELTAT, and when the rate of a change in temperature DELTAT exceeds the reference rate of a change in temperature DELTAt, it is judged that the angles of louvers 12a and 12b with a ceiling surface are increased, and by means of a discharge angle switching means 23a and 23b, the angle is set to a position where it is increased.
