Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the flow rate of an assist gas contributing to the splashing of the dross generated at the time of cutting by forming grooves which surround an assist gas ejection hole in overlap to the front end face of a nozzle so that the flow rate of the assist gas is suppressed. CONSTITUTION:The grooves 41 which surround the assist gas ejection hole 37 in overlap are formed to the front end face 39 of the nozzle 35 and throttling pieces 43 are formed between the respective grooves 41. These pieces, therefore, act as the resistance to the flow of the assist gas flowing out of spacings 47. The outflow of the assist gas from the spacings 47 is thereby suppressed to increase the flow rate of the assist gas to be ejected downward from a slit 45 of a work piece W. The assist gas is, therefore, efficiently used and the blowing away of the dross is more surely executed.
