Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a collet chuck from chips for stabilizing chucking performance by providing a cutting liquid nozzle in the tip of a draw bar having a center bore for opening and closing a collet bushing to fill a gap in a collet chuck with cutting liquid. CONSTITUTION:When a collet chuck is attached to a precision lathe provided with a loading robot to clamp a workpiece W for cutting, cutting liquid is discharged from a jet 16a in the front surface of a nozzle 16 to the cutting surface during cutting, while cutting liquid supplied from a path hole 16b fills a gap in the collet chuck to block chips from intrusion. When cutting is completed and the workpiece W is removed, the cutting liquid flows from the front end of collet bushing 10 through the gap in the collet chuck to discharge chips attache to the collet chuck while preventing the collet chuck from the intrusion of dust. Next, the clamped workpiece bears against the end faces of a hole in the collet bushing 10 and a snap metal 11, and the cutting liquid fills the gap in the chuck to block the chuck from the intrusion of chips.
