Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance subtractive mixture characteristics so as to obtain uniform images free of ununiformity in density, releasing a transfer recording medium and an image-receiving sheet from each other to produce a monochrome transfer-recorded image on the image-receiving sheet, and smoothening the surface of the image through a treatment such as application of pressure. CONSTITUTION:A vapor-deposited metallic film 2 is provided on a transparent base 13, and the film 2 is subjected to discharge breakdown or the like to produce a so-called negative mask sheet 14. The mask sheet 14 is superposed on the back side of a transfer recording medium, followed by exposing to flash light 7 from a xenon or iodine lamp or the like 6. By this, a thermally transferable solid ink layer is melted to form a heat-melted part 17 capable of being transferred through permeation to an image receiving sheet 5, and an image 8 consisting of a thermally transferable solid ink of the first color is obtained on the sheet 5. To smoothen the surface of the transferred solid ink, the sheet 5 is passed between rollers 18 to which a pressure is applied. The process is repeated to superimpose the first-fourth colors, whereby a color transfer- recorded image can be obtained.
