Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive improvements in plasticization and a kneading effect, by a method wherein in an auxiliary flight of a necessary length provided between main flights, by making the outside diameter smaller than that of the main flight, a lead angle of the auxiliary flight is made larger than that of the main flight and branches are formed in parallel with each other alternately every pair of the auxiliary flights. CONSTITUTION:A main flight 12 having about the same outside diameter as the inside diameter of a heating cylinder is formed continuously on an axial part of a screw at a predetermined lead angle extending over a feed zone, compression zone and metering zone, and there is an auxiliary flight 14 in a groove 3 between the main flights 12 positioning at the metering zone. The outside diameter of the auxiliary flight 14 is formed a little smaller than that of the main flight 12 and a lead angle is made larger than that of the main flight 12. The auxiliary flight is comprised of a first and second flight 14a, 14b ramified alternately every pair of the auxiliary flights from a facing side surface of the main flight 12 and formed in parallel with each other. An inner corner 15 of brach parts of the flights 14a, 14b is formed into a state of a circular arc so that resin does not stay.
