Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of surface flaw by regulating a rolling starting temp. to a specified low temp. zone and regulating a finish rolling temp. to over a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:An industrial pure titanium (purity: >=99wt.%) is used as a blank rolling material and it is heated to 500-800 deg.C, the rolling temp. is set 500-700 deg.C, then the hot rolling is performed at the finish rolling temp. to be over 450 deg.C. In this stage, the upper heating temp. of the blank material is limited to 800 deg.C, for suppressing the generation of oxidized scale. As for the rolling starting temp., when it is <500 deg.C, the rolling is difficult because its deforming resistance is too large and when it exceeds >700 deg.C, the surface flaws such as craters, bald spots etc., are increased. Furthermore, when the finish rolling temp. is 450 deg.C, the rolling is difficult because the deforming resistance becomes too large. In this way, the surface flaws are significantly reduced and an excellent rolling is performed.
