Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform effectively Si-removing treatment for molten pig iron by controlling the temperature loss during the Si-removing treatment and also CO reaction in the molten pig iron by static pressure of molten pig by a method wherein more than a specific amount of oxygen is blown directly into the molten pig iron from below its surface.
CONSTITUTION: In the Si-removing preparatory treatment of molten pig iron, 0.03Nm3/min.t.p or more of oxygen is directly blown into the molten pig iron by a lance nozzle, where the oxygen is preferably blown by immersing the lance nozzle to a depth range of 200W1,500mm. Thus, the loss of temperature can be eliminated during the Si-removing treatment, raising the temperature of the molten pig iron after the Si-removing treatment. Also, CO reaction can be suppressed, enabling effective Si-removing treatment for the molten pig iron to be performed. In addition, restrictions on heat and raw materials used in the total steel-making process can also be alleviated.
