Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the apparent resolving power of a field freeze image, by calculating correction data on the basis of the image data of the mutual before and behind scanning lines in the same field and preparing the field image on the basis of said correction data. CONSTITUTION:An operator 14 calculates correction data wherein the image data of the mutual before and behind scanning lines in the same field are averaged at each time when the field image data of either one of ODD field and EVEN field memories 12, 13 is written or read. A controller 17 controlling each part of a frame memory 11 performs control forming a field freeze image using the correction data calculated by the operator 14 in the writing or reading processing with respect to the frame memory 11, for example, at each time when the writing or reading of image data is performed with respect to the ODD field memory 12 as one field data to the frame memory 11.
