Abstract

PURPOSE:To record information such as a character onto a recording member in an excellent way by applying relative movement a stage provided with a single slit and the recording member along the broadwise direction of the slit so as to attain subscanning and applying the main scanning along the lengthwise direction of the slit at a location where the slit exists thereby applying 2-dimension scanning. CONSTITUTION:An optical modulator 22 of an optical system of a picture recorder applies intensity modulation to a laser beam from a laser light source and a rotary polygon mirror 24 is driven to deflect the laser beam in the main scanning direction B. Moreover, a condenser lens 28 collects the beam in the direction of the recording member 34 supported by a recording member support device 16, the deflected leser beam by uniform circular motion of the mirror 24 is converted into the uniform linear motion and give distortion aberration to scann the member 34. A heat mode member is used for the member 34. A broadwise slit 44 is provided to the lengthwise intermediate part of a flat stage 38 of the device 16 and the slit 44 is provided corresponding to the aperture 36B of a stage support plate 34.
