Abstract

PURPOSE:To make plug attachment work simple and secure by making a connector portion of a lead wire of a pressure sensor exposed on a main metal fitting and bringing a lead wire incorporated in a plug cap into contact with the fitting. CONSTITUTION:A pressure sensor 7 is fixed to a main metal fitting 4 of a spark plug 1, with a lead wire of the sensor insulated and embedded in the fitting and with a connector portion 8 of the sensor exposed on on a side of the fitting. A plug cap 30 is constitute with a tubular body 31 of a hard material made of a plastic or the like and an output lead wire 35 is embedded in the tubular body, with the bottom end of the tubular body formed with a connector portion 34 while with the other end thereof connected to a required part outside the plug cap 30. The plug cap 30 is attached to the spark plug 1 so that the connector portion 34 comes into contact with the connector portion 8 to make an electrical connection. Since the plug has no lead wires floating outside, the plug can be attached easily and securely.
