Abstract
PURPOSE: To defrost an outdoor heat exchanger without adding special piping or the like, by constructing the second stop valve to be opened or closed with the fluid pressure at a junction between an expansion valve and a fixed throttle channel as pilot pressure. CONSTITUTION: In a heating operation, the pressurized refrigerant of an indoor heat exchanger B enters the lower valve chamber 1b from the second fluid passage 4, and then reaches a back pressure chamber 1g via a fixed throttle passage 6a. The flow rate of the pressurized refrigerant is controlled by a needle valve body 3, and it flows to an outdoor heat exchanger A via the upper valve chamber 2a, an interconnecting passage 1f, the first stop valve chamber 1e, and the first fluid passage 5. If the needle valve is opened successively from this condition, the flow rate of the refrigerant is increased. Further, the pressure in the back pressure chamber 1g is decreased by the circulation resistance of the fixed throttle channel 6a, and the second valve body 6 moves upward while compressing a valve spring 7 by the vertical pressure difference to open the second stop valve. Therefore, the large part of the high temperature refrigerant in an incomplete condensed condition in the indoor heat exchanger B flows into the outdoor heat exchanger A directly from the second fluid passage 4 to perform defrosting.
