Abstract
PURPOSE:To accomplish an effective cleaning and removal of stain, smoke and odor generated during cooking operation by a method wherein a casing provided with a discharging hole at its upper part, a heating chamber having several aeration holes and a planar cleaning catalyst having an aeration characteristic are installed at an inner wall surface of a heating and cooking appliance. CONSTITUTION:When a heater 3 is heated through energization to cause air within a heating chamber 2 to be heated up to a temperature suitable for cooking operation, heated air passed through a clearance within a cleaning catalyst 1 from its front surface to its rear surface is circulated back from the rear surface of the cleaning catalyst 1 to interior part so as to promote temperature increasing of the cleaning catalyst 1. The heated air entering the interior part of the cleaning catalyst 1 is convected within to increase its temperature. As the heating chamber 2 shows a proper temperature, oil and fat generated from a cooked item 12 on a baking pan 8 is oxidated and decomposed in sequence by the cleaning catalyst 1. Both smoke and odor generated simultaneously are removed during flowing operation of the heated air under a catalyst cleaning action. The discharged gas is discharged from aeration holes 5 out of the unit.
