Abstract
PURPOSE:To evacuate smoothly air being stagnant between an unvulcanized tire and the molding face of a mold and to get rid of forming useless rubber projections, by providing specific grooves on a mold for molding a tire. CONSTITUTION:In a sectional type mold for molding a tire, vent grooves 12 extending in the tire circumferential direction are provided on the side wall faces of projecting part 10 for molding grooves on a sector 3 and these vent grooves 12 are communicated with a parting position of the sector 3. By preparing a mold having a constitution like this, air being stagnant between an unvulcanized tire and the inner face of the sector 3 can be easily evacuated to the parting position located at the end part of the sector 3 through the vent grooves 12. Useless rubber projections are not thereby formed on the tire side part and it becomes unnecessary to do trimming operation on a molded tire as done hitherto.
