Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the high-accuracy optical current transformer even in environment of temperature variation and vibration by arranging four columnar Faraday effect materials at the periphery of a conductor in a quadrilateral shape, allowing light to make one round, and measuring a phase difference based upon Faraday effect. CONSTITUTION:The four columnar Faraday effect materials 1 are arranged at the periphery of the conductor 3 in the quadrilateral shape and the light guided by an optical fiber is received by an optical head part 10 equipped with a lens and a polarizer and allowed to make one round, the light is photodetected by a head part 10 equipped with an analyzer and a lens, and this turn-around integration type optical current transformer measures the current of the conductor 3 according to a Faraday rotary polarization angle. Prisms 4 are placed at three corners of the quadrilateral shape and one corner is an entrance and exit for the light. The whole body is fixed flexibly in a storage case 2 and transparent liquid fills the periphery. The current can be measured with high accuracy even in the environment of temperature variation and vibration.
