Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily measure the degree of deterioration of ferrite-based heat- resisting steel with time by using the close correlation between the deterioration degree and an experimental expression showing the relation among the absolute temperature, elapsed time, and property value, e.g. particle side of deposited carbide. CONSTITUTION:The property value P of the carbide deposited in the in-use ferrite-based heat-resisting steel such as the grain side and intergranular distance is expressed by the experimental expression P=T(C+log t) among the absolute temperature T, elapsed time (t) and a constant C depending upon the material. Further, a relational expression has close correlation with the deterioration degree. For the purpose, a forcible acceleration test of a test piece is conducted so that the temperature and time are parameters, and a deterioration degree evaluation reference curve showing the relation with a property value such as gain size sown by said grain size is found previously. This used to easily measure the deterioration degree of the object member.
