Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid chromatograph packing material having high additive value by subjecting the high boiling fraction of direct liquefied oil of coal to primary and secondary carbonizations in the self atmosphere or inert gas of a specific temp. and pressure. CONSTITUTION:The high boiling fraction of 350-480 deg.C in the direct liquefied oil of coal is taken into an autoclave and is heated for 2hr at >=500 deg.C, for example, 600 deg.C under 0-50kg/cm<2> pressure by substituting the air therein with gaseous nitrogen. The solid matter of the unreacted liquid matter obtd. by this primary carbonization reaction is cleaned by benzene and is then filtered with a glass filter and dried. This solid matter is ground to 200-300 mesh and is heated for 30min at 600-900 deg.C and under 0 or 10kg/cm<2> initial pressure in the gaseous nitrogen in another autoclave, by which the secondary carbide is obtd. The liquid chromatograph packing material having the high additive value is thereby obtd. from the high boiling fraction having low value.
