Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled traveler forming a conformity layer even in a high-speed operation range and capable of keeping an excellent spinning state with decreased abrasion over a long period, by adjusting the hardness of the traveler within a specific range by forming the traveler from a specific steel wire and carrying out hardening and annealing of the wire. CONSTITUTION:The objective traveler is produced from a steel wire having a carbon content of 0.6-1.5%, an oxygen content of <=10ppm and a chromium content of preferably 0.6-3% and is adjusted to a hardness of Hv 500-800 by hardening and annealing.
