Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber, consisting of two kinds of acrylonitrile based polymers of respective specific compositions and having specified shrinkage in boiling water and dyeability, soft touch, warm and rich feeling, high degree of shrinkage and flame retardance. CONSTITUTION:A polymer composition prepared by blending (A) 95-60pts.wt. polymer consisting of >=40wt.% acrylonitrile and 20-60wt.% halogen-containing monomer and sulfonic acid-containing monomer with (B) 5-40pts.wt. polymer consisting of 30-75wt.% acrylonitrile and 70-25wt.% vinyl chloride is used to afford the aimed fiber having >=25% shrinkage in boiling water. Furthermore, vinylidene chloride is preferably used as the halogen-containing monomer in the component (A) and, e.g. sodium allylsulfonate, are cited as the sulfonic acid-containing monomer.
