Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a non-rigid vinyl chloride type resin composition having rubber elasticity, wide processing temperature range, and improved processability, by adding a plasticizer to a vinyl chloride resin obtained by polymerizing vinyl chloride in the presence of a specific amount of a polyfunctional compound at a specific temperature.
CONSTITUTION: Vinyl chloride or a mixture of it and a compound copolymerizable with it is polymerized in the presence of 0.02W0.15wt% polyfunctional compound (e.g., diallyl phthalate, etc.) containing two or more ethylenic double bonds in the molecule at the polymerization temperature of 30W50°C under deaerated condition of ≤40mmHg (polymerization ratio of preferably ≤85%) to give a vinyl chloride resin to be dissolved in tetrahydrofuran completely, having an average polymerization degree of ≥2,000 and a molecular distribution of ≥3.0. 100pts.wt. of the prepared resin is blended with 65W200pts.wt. plasticizer, to give the desired composition.
