Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled filament yarn having a high modules of elasticity even at high temperatures, by melt spinning a vinylidene fluoride based polymer, heating the resultant filament yarn at a specific temperature and drawing the filament yarn while slowly moving the heated part thereof. CONSTITUTION:A vinylidene fluoride based polymer is melt spun under condition of 200-250 deg.C melt temperature and >=20 draft ratio to provide a filament yarn, which is then partially heated at 150-180 deg.C temperature and drawn while slowly moving the heated part thereof to afford the aimed filament yarn having the following moduli of elasticity. >=10GPa at 25 deg.C and >=1GPa at 150 deg.C. Furthermore, the above-mentioned filament yarn preferably exhibits the melting endothermic peak at 180-200 deg.C when heated at 10 deg.C/min heating rate by a differential scanning calorimeter.
