Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce no burrs or sharp cut edges to prevent internal short circuit in a battery by cutting an electrode raw plate prepared by filling a specified active material in an electrode core with laser beams. CONSTITUTION:A manganese dioxide electrode raw plate 1 prepared by filling a pasty active material mainly comprising manganese dioxide in an electrode core is cut with laser beams 2 in an dimension of 100mmX8mmX0.4mm to obtain a positive plate 5. The cut ends of of the electrode core exposed on the ends of the electrode plate 1 are melted and rounded, and no burrs and no sharp cut edges are produced there. The internal short circuit in a battery is therefore prevented.
