Abstract

The color picture information inputted from a color scanner 1 or the color picture information stored in an optical disk device 5 are displayed on a color monitor 3 under the control by the image processor 4. In order to display the color information stored in the optical disk device 5 on the color monitor 3, initially, the object color information is retrieved from the optical disk device 5, then, the data compressed picture information of cyanogen, magenta, yellow included in the color picture information is data extended and decoded, then, RGB signals are formed based thereon, the formed RGB signals are transmitted to the color monitor 3, thereby, the color picture information is displayed.
