Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure coating of an adhesive on sheets of paper by providing the first and the second sensors, said first sensor detecting the back end of a traveling sheet of paper and, immediately thereafter, separating a press roller from the paper, said second sensor detecting the front end of the paper end, immediately thereafter, pressing the press roller against the paper to bring the paper into contact with a coating roller. CONSTITUTION:In a paper travel mechanism 10, the topmost one of sheets of paper A is fed into a main body 1 by means of a feeding roller 11, and then sent out while being sandwiched between a pair of paper travel bands 12. An adhesive coating mechanism 20 is provided with an adhesive-coating roller 22, and adhesive butt 24, and a press roller 28 which is positioned at the side edge of and on the upper side of the paper so as to face the roller 22 and which presses the paper to bring it into contact with the roller 22 at a predetermined time. Further, a control mechanism 40 is provided with a first sensor 41 and a second sensor 42, said first sensor 41 being positioned just behind the roller 22 and sending a signal for separating the roller 28 from the paper immediately after it recognizes an end of the traveling paper, said second sensor 42 being positioned just in front of the roller 22 and sending a signal for pressing the roller 28 against the paper to bring the paper into contact with the roller 22.
