Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the persistence of dehydrogenation reaction activity by depositing 0.05 to 1 wt.% Pt, 0.1 to 1 wt.% Sn, 0.1 to 1 wt.% Tl and 0 to 1 wt.% alkaline metal on a solid granular porous carrier. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst for dehydrogenation reaction is formed by depositing 0.05 to 1 wt.% Pt, 0.1 to 1 wt.% Sn, 0.1 to 1 wt.% Tl and 0 to 1 wt.% alkaline metal on the solid granular porous carrier by specifying the weight ratio of Sn/Tl to <=1/1 and the weight ratio of Pt/(Sn+Tl) to 0.15/1 to 0.5/1. The carrier is adequately γ-alumina having a specific surface area of 100 to 400 m<2> /g and a total hole volume of 0.5 to 1.2 ml/g. The resulted catalyst exhibits high catalyst activity at the time of forming straight chain olefin by dehydrogenating straight chain paraffin.
