Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform stably a narrowing of the spectral line width of oscillation light and a change in an oscillation frequency by a method wherein an optical fiber, which is provided on the resonance optical path of a semiconductor laser, is disposed in tension between supporting members, which are respectively formed as a separate member, and either one of the supporting members is formed in a displaceable design in the length directions of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:In a semiconductor laser module with an external resonator, which is constituted by providing an optical fiber 2 on a resonance optical path of a semiconductor laser 1, the fiber 2 is disposed in tension between supporting members 3 and 4, which are respectively formed as a separate member, and either one of the members 3 and 4 is formed in a displaceable design to the length directions of the fiber 2. For example, the side of a reflective end surface 14b of a tapered point balled optical fiber 14 is fixed on a main body supporting member 13 with an optical bonding agent 18 and the side of a lens part 14a of the fiber 14 is fixed on a movable supporting member 18 with an optical bonding agent 17. Moreover, the member 16 is fixed on the member 13 through a piezoelectric element 15 in a state that the lens part 14a is aligned in such a way as to oppose to a nonreflected end surface 11a of a semiconductor laser 11. In that case, a proper tensile force is given to the fiber 14 for preventing the fiber 14 from loosening.
