Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the measurement accuracy of the titled optical density measuring instrument wherein its measurement part is freely opened and closed by providing said opening and closing structure part with a positioning member which holds the gap between a light emission part and a light reception part constant. CONSTITUTION:A light receiving element 6 is provided to a main-body side base board part 4 and a movable arm part 2 formed freely rotatably on the base board part 4 is provided with a stopper member 4a. This stopper member 4a determines the clipping position of a sample leaf by the movable arm part 2 to hold the distance between the light emitting element 5 and light receiving element 6 constant. Consequently, when the sample leaf is clipped between the base board part 4 and movable arm part 2, the distance between the light emitting and light receiving elements can be held constant, so variance in the measurement accuracy is reduced effectively and the measurement accuracy is improved.
