Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A keyboard 6 generates key depression and release signals KON, KOFF, the assigning means 8 assigns each of the signals KON, KOFF to a musical sound generation request signals MON or a musical sound stop request signals MOFF in accordance with a mode and the timbre selecting means outputs timbre selection signals T1 , T2 respectively correspondingly to the signals KON, KOFF. Since both of the signals corresponding to key depression and key release are assigned to the musical sound generation request signal, a musical sound can be generated also at the time of key release in addition to key depression. Since a timbre generated at the time of key depression is made different from a timber generated at the time of key release, the effect of performance is improved.
