Abstract

PURPOSE:To always diagnose of the insulation in a live wire, by forming a separation part electrically separable at external shielding conductors in a cable line to provide a transformer for detecting pulses between the external shielding conductors on both sides of the separation part. CONSTITUTION:A connection of a cable 10 has a conductor 1 exposed by peeling connected to a conductor connection metal 4 by compression bonding and after insulated and a reinforced by a connection insulating material 5 and is provided with a semiconductor layer 6 and a connection external conductor 7 to be covered with an externally insulated protective layer. A cable external conductor 3 is separated from the conductor 7 and a separation part 9 is formed as communicating therebetween by the semiconductor layer 6 alone. Moreover, a primary side winding 31 of a transformer 30 for detecting pulses is connected between the two conductors 3 and 7 at the separation part 9. Here, when a partial discharge occurs in the insulating material 5, a pulsating current flows by the partial discharge and a part thereof runs through a winding 31 of the transformer 30. Thus, the current is drawn out to a secondary side winding 32 as pulse voltage amplified thereby permitting detection of the presence of the partial discharge.
