Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a shielded tape electric wire by providing insulating layers above and below conductors aligned in parallel with an equal pitch horizontally in a single tier, providing a shielding layer on one side of the insulating layer, and welding it by ultrasonic waves to at least one of the conductors. CONSTITUTION:A shielding layer 22 is provided on one side of an insulating layer 14, and a conductor 10a and the shielding layer 22 are welded at portions 44 at a proper distance with the mouthpiece 34 of a ultrasonic welder. The insulating layer 14 between the conductor 10a and the shielding layer 22 is removed when the ultrasonic vibration is applied, and the conductor 10a and the shielding layer 22 are electrically connected. The welded section 44 may be extended over the whole longitudinal length of the conductor by changing the mouthpiece 34. Since the conductor 10a serving as a drain wire is aligned at an equal distance (p) from other conductors 10 according to this constitution, the connector connection or the like can be performed like the conventional tape electric wire while the shield effect is kept, and a conductor at any position can be easily used as the drain wire.
