CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary destaticizing lamp 61 constituting an optical destaticizing means 60 is set under a carrying guide 25a formed on the upstream side of a transfer charger 25 through a reflector 62. By transmitting the optically destaticized light by the auxiliary destaticizing lamp 61 so as to be in a direction perpendicular to the tangent of a photosensitive body drum 20 through a slit 63 provided on the carrying guide 25a, the charges on the photosensitive drum 20 are made uniform. Since the optical destaticization means need not be provided on the position where the light destaticized light is directly radiated on the image carrier 20, the space dedicated to the light destaticization means need not be secured at the periphery of the image carrier 20. Thus, the diameter of the image carrier can be made smaller and the entire device can be miniaturized.
