Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily apply martempering and austempering to a metal material by rapidly cooling the vacuum-heated metal material to a specific temp. under a non-oxidizing atmosphere, soaking and further, executing gas cooling. CONSTITUTION:Inner part of a closed system vessel 12 is made to vacuum atmosphere by a vacuum pump 15 and the metal material A is vacuum-heated in the vacuum heating chamber 21 to the prescribed temp. Next, the pressure in the closed system vessel 12 is returned back under non-oxidizing atmosphere, and the metal material A is shifted on a table of lifting device 48 in a gas cooling chamber 31 and descended to the fluid bed chamber 41. Then, the fluidized gas is sent to a plenum chamber 46 through a control value 51 and by injecting from a dispersing plate 45, the fluid grain 47 is fluidized and the metal material A is uniformly rapid-cooled under good heat efficiency to come to the prescribed temp. at more than the martenstic point and soaked as it is. Next, the metal material A is ascended to the gas cooling chamber 31 by the lifting device 48 and the cooling gas is sent through a control valve 53 and finish-cooled.
